This month
has seen CAD/CAM design and CNC machining company, Fourmaster’s original directors
hand over the reins to a new Managing Director, successful acquire the SC21
accreditation and take on new staff.
After 25 highly successful years in the industry, Fourmaster’s Ltd is
welcoming a new Managing Director, Mark Cox on board and is bidding farewell to
its remaining two, of the original four, directors and looks set for continued
success.

The
retirement of Peter Spittle and Graham Power was duly marked with an open day
at the firm on 28th March.
The day-long event saw many of their customers and suppliers bid
farewell to the original directors.
Commenting on the event, Mark Cox said: “We had a really good day on
Thursday and it was a pleasure to see so many of our customers and suppliers
calling in throughout the day. The
success of Fourmaster’s is a testament to the skill and dedication of the four
originators. We know that Peter and
Graham are on hand, but we are well placed to continue their hard work and
commitment.”

Fourmaster’s
are continuing to thrive, Mark added: “We are certainly experiencing an
increase in orders and are receiving a number of enquiries. We have already acquired a new customer and are
taking on new staff in the patternmaking department. If we can continue this same level of
business we are well placed to expand on our inspection area and machining
area.”

The firm
have once again acquired the SC21 accreditation. Mark explained: “Fourmaster’s were one of the
first small companies to acquire the Twenty-First Century Supply Chain
accreditation. We have successfully
passed the accreditation every year since 2007 and were awarded bronze in
2010. Myself and Peter were extremely
pleased to receive this again.” The
accreditation reflects Fourmaster’s performance in terms of business management
and their commitment to a sustainable continuous improvement plan and the prioritising
of development issues.

Since its
establishment in 1988 Fourmaster’s have become well equipped to offer a
complete service right from the design and manufacture of new press tools
through to final pressings. The firm’s
in-house design facility has enabled them to offer complete control and
flexibility throughout the product development process and bring complex-shaped
products to reality. Thus allowing
customer requirements to be met economically and to the highest of
standards. Furthermore, the company
boasts an experienced team of welders who specialise in the welding of
aluminium and stainless steel. Two large
CNC machines are in operation alongside hand-made patternmaking
facilities. They are well equipped to
offer a comprehensive service for the development and production of components
for prototype and production systems and are well equipped to design and
manufacture jigs and fixtures to customer’s specifications.

Fourmaster’s
Limited is now well equipped to move forward and continue fulfilling all of the
aspirations that the original four strove to achieve, whilst adapting to the
current economic climate. With the
recruitment of a well-qualified new managing director, the recruitment of
additional staff, the continued achieving of the SC21 accreditation and several
plans in place, Fourmasters are well on target for a prosperous future.

Made in the Midlands member, Fourmasters, have joined the ventilator challenge and are making vital components for them. They will also be manufacturing parts to help the critical testing of the ventilators.

Fourmasters Limited, established in 1988, has gone from strength to strength within the world of manufacturing.

They have the ability to offer a complete service from the design and manufacture of a new press tool through to the final pressing. Their in house design facility enables them to balance tool and component costs in order to deliver high-quality economic solutions to suit clients requirements.

Wolverhampton based manufacturer Fourmasters was appointed to join the ventilator challenge by GKN recently. The manufacturing firm began producing sets of fixtures that will be used in the building and testing of the ventilators. The work for these fixtures started in the last week of March, since then the firm has been approached by other major clients including Rolls Royce.

So far the firm has made around 6 sets each consisting of 8 components vital for the production ventilators and is set to make more in the coming weeks. Mark Cox, Managing Director at Fourmasters said:

“We felt very proud when we were asked to join the challenge, especially as one of our customers has asked us to do this. This shows that we are known for reliability and that we never promise anything we can't achieve.”

Though the company has adapted the way they work in order to fulfil the request, they are also carrying out other work as usual. They are currently still manufacturing goods for GKN and an aerospace customer, who have allowed them to prioritise the ventilator work.

Fourmasters is one of the fewer companies who haven’t furloughed any staff due to a flexible workforce, however, still, have social distance and sanitary measures in place. Offering advice to other manufacturing firms still open, Mark said:

“Keep the workforce positive and ensure to keep up social distance measures.”
