      <description><![CDATA[&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Following a busy year, Willenhall based press toolmaker Pemberton Engineering are looking to expand further.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: 400;&quot;&gt;The company continued its steady growth over the past 12 months to increase sales by 10%. This has led to the forthcoming expansion into the premises conveniently placed right next door. The expansion has been planned for a year or so and is now łnally coming to fruition.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: 400;&quot;&gt;The company will double its workspace and have the room required for the planned growth over the next three year period. &amp;ldquo;We will now have the current press Toolroom in one building, and the new building will become a machining / wire erosion facility. This will increase our market offer to take on sub contract machining work as well as our current very busy toolmaking operation&amp;rdquo;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: 400;&quot;&gt;To facilitate this we plan to add further to our CNC machining department and possibly add more wire erosion in the future should it be required. The company have already expanded the machining department adding another machining centre. As soon as the machines are sited and fully operational in the new premises, the company will look to add further machines.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: 400;&quot;&gt;Pemberton Engineering are in the process of gaining the accreditation AS9100. This is to ensure that they are compliant for future work and to bring our quality systems further forward. The company is looking to secure new work once the accreditation is gained in new markets. &amp;ldquo;There are many markets out there that we just do not tap into currently, we are creating alignment with these industries currently. This will lead to orders in the near future&amp;rdquo;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Pemberton Engineering has invested in a CMM machine and the latest
inspect2cad software from QCT.&amp;nbsp; This investment
enables the company to offer full reporting to complex 3D parts, to support its
press tool manufacturing ability.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We can now reverse engineer dies and punches, which is a
great improvement for our work on modification and alteration of tooling.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The machine will also help us when developing into new
markets.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Pemberton engineering, have recently had designed and installed
a new compressed air system that will make considerable energy cost
savings.&amp;nbsp; At the heart of the new system
is an Atlas Copco variable speed drive unit, which will have efficiency savings
on the outgoing Unit of 62%.&amp;nbsp; Making
large savings for the company in energy costs&amp;nbsp;
and also reducing its carbon footprint!&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;

&lt;br&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Although the initial capital expense was higher than other
similar Units, it will pay for itself within three years!&amp;nbsp; And is deemed to be a very robust compressor
giving piece of mind for the future.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;The introduction of this unit both reduces our costs, but
also gives us much more scope as the capacity is also larger than our outgoing
Compressor.&amp;nbsp; This will enable us to add
more plant in the future without having to worry about air supply issues.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;

      <title>Further efficiency at Pemberton Engineering</title>

&lt;p&gt;Following investment last year in new plant and machinery,
Pemberton Engineering have continued this investment in earnest this year
starting with the purchase of Vero software&#039;s latest 3D machining package.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We already achieve a very high accuracy from our Cnc machine
tools, but felt that the programming side of the equation was outdated.  We reviewed many 3D machining packages and
decided on Vero&#039;s software due to the ease of programming.  This is vital to the new crop of engineers who
have to get up to speed much more quickly than previous generations Cnc
operatives.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This software will allow us to really unlock the potential
of our latest Cnc machining centre and gain the quickest route to finished
component, whether that be a bolster for one of our tooling packages or a
sub-contract machining part.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Although we design many tools in house, we also sub-contract
some design work out.  Many press tool designers
use Vero software currently.  By using
Visi (Vero&#039;s machining solution) we can link these 3D models seamlessly for machining, without any missing surface data where patching may be
required.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;To maximize the software&#039;s potential we have also installed
some new computer hardware so there is no weakness in the programming loop.  This equates to much shorter
time from initial model load in, to post processing to the machine. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Going forward this year we will also be exhibiting at the
made in the Midlands exhibition on stand 34.

      <title>&#xA3;150k Contract Win Follows Regional Growth Investment</title>

      <description><![CDATA[&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A West Midlands engineering firm is celebrating a new contract worth £150k after receiving help from Green Bridge Funding. Pemberton Engineering, who design and manufacture press tools, were able to invest in a new Hurco CNC machine and create two new jobs.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Green Bridge Supply Chain Programme will run over the next two years and support businesses who want to grow. To gain funding the business must demonstrate there will also be an environmental benefit. In Pembertons case they were able reduce their energy bills, increase productivity and increase efficiency.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The fund offers help investing in new equipment, relocation or expansion into new premises and improvements in systems or processes.&lt;br&gt;Darren Pemberton, Operations director said, The contract win was especially pleasing as we know that this type of work has previously been quoted from China. We were able to show how competitive we are worldwide.&lt;br&gt;He added, Our business is able to compete on more than price, we are also able to help clients with ideas on how the project can be developed in a more efficient way, also the responsive positive service we offer to all of our customers is key.&lt;br&gt;Darren is an engineering graduate who joined his fathers business and eventually became the Operations director after working every job in the business. Darren said, Toolmaking is a highly skilled career and its important that we keep these skills in the Midlands for future generations.&lt;br&gt;New jobs&lt;br&gt;Pemberton has created two new roles following investment, one of whom is an apprentice from Walsall Academy. In a reverse of the traditional apprenticeship, the young engineer, who is in his final year goes to school four times a week and then works in Pemberton on the fifth day.&lt;br&gt;Darren said this is a really good way for young people to experience the workplace and I was impressed with Walsall Academys innovative approach.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;]]></description>
