LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE

Made in the Midlands member University College Birmingham is set to run a part-funded Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship: BA (Hons) Business Management, an apprenticeship accredited by the Chartered Management Institute.

UCB wish to extend this exciting opportunity to all members looking to increase the skillset within their businesses.

The course is part-funded by the Government, so employers get financial support to up-skill rising management stars, boosting longer-term business stability and internal recruitment to key positions.

This high-level degree apprenticeship, backed by the prestigious Chartered Management Institute, is suitable for employees with management responsibilities and high-calibre school-leavers and is delivered through a flexible blend of work and study managed by experts at University College Birmingham.

Levy paying employers can enrol existing staff onto the programme using their Levy (digital account). Non-Levy employers can access a minimum of 95% of the cost via funding meaning that the maximum employer contribution for the complete delivery is £1.100 per person (we may be able to find alternative funding to support the 5% and we can discuss this with employers as they vest an interest).

Employers are keen to upskill their workforce and investing in staff builds strong ties and acts to incentivise team members particularly when conducting annual appraisals and looking at how to retain their best people.

The CMDA is applicable across all sectors (you may even have employees in the `Made In` group that could benefit) and attendance at UCB only constitutes 30 – 35 days within the first 30 months on the programme.

How does a degree apprenticeship compare with a standard apprenticeship?

A degree apprenticeship is pitched at a higher level than an advanced apprenticeship. It corresponds to a full university degree – the only difference is that it is delivered predominantly in the workplace.

Who is it suitable for?

Any employee with management responsibilities at any level. These may be new or existing employees who you wish to up-skill or reskill.

How much will it cost me?

Government funding is available (via Apprenticeship Levy funds). Please contact UCB at degreeapprenticeship@ucb.ac.uk to arrange a consultation – and find out what funding is available to support your employees throughout the degree apprenticeship. www.ucb.ac.uk
